Before you install
Do I need an internet connection?
For the AI tools, yes: transcription, silence detection, audio separation and tracking are processed on the Akko Cut servers. The tools that only touch the timeline, such as zoom, presets, keyframes and organization, work offline.
Do I have to install the Premiere extension by hand?
No. On launch Akko Cut checks the extension version, downloads it and drops the folder in the right place on its own.
What happens to the audio pulled from the timeline?
It is exported to a temporary folder on your computer and sent to the server that runs the analysis. The result comes back as cuts, captions or keyframes, and the local temporary file is removed.
Does it work on Mac?
Akko Cut ships for Windows today. That is where the Premiere integration is tested and maintained.
How do updates arrive?
The app tells you when a new version is out and updates itself and the Premiere extension, with no manual reinstall.
Install it, open Premiere and start cutting.
The installer takes care of the extension and the AI engine. All you need to open is your sequence.
